On Friday I got out of work early to join Mrs The Fyd and we went to the Humane Society. Now we have two new members of the household; a pair of cats named Molasses and Asparagus (original shelter names discarded immediately). At first we had them adjusting to their new home in our basement, which is fully finished. Molasses, however, showed signs of getting a cold, and we had been warmed that he was a sprayer and being newly neutered still had those sprayin' hormones fustigatin' him. So he is now in the bathroom upstairs, sneezing a lot but also under a regimen of antibiotics. Sneezing a lot, I repeat, having just spent some time with him, requiring me to change my cat snot-soaked clothes afterward.

So these cats have also been previously exposed to dogs. Which will be good for Boris. Neither cat seemed particularly alarmed by his spastic antics during brief introductory meetings. Once they're well and adapted one hopes there will be joyful cat 'n dog going-on around here.
