Blood Engines

And thus, after writing another 7,500 words tonight, the first draft of the Frog novel is done. Heather typed "The End" at the bottom at 12:15 a.m. I typed the title -- Blood Engines -- at the top not five minutes ago. So now I've got myself another book. Except for typing in about 6,000 words of handwritten bits. And line-editing. And revising as needed. But all that's just sanding down the corners and sweeping up. I tend to write reasonably complete first drafts, and the heavy-lifting part is over now. It's a lean, mean 90,000 words long, full of ghosts, bears, frogs, hummingbirds, sex, violence, fighting, sacrifice, evil vanquished by the merely morally ambiguous, hot tubs, trains, and snakeskin underwear.

Damn. I'm in a good mood right now.
