So, I will not be a Yale Younger Poet. I got the letter yesterday informing me that I didn't win the contest. Instead -- shockingly! -- they chose a graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop. (He's actually a very accomplished poet, though, so my grapes aren't too sour.)

However, I did have something of a back-up plan. Sean Wallace is a fan of my poetry, and he asked me a while back if I'd be interested in doing a book of poems for his Aegis imprint (which is going to publish poetry books by Sonya Taaffe and Mike Allen, among others). So I told him that, in the very-likely event that Yale didn't want my book, I'd be honored to have him publish it. And so it shall be. Look for If There Were Wolves at some point in the future. Hurray!

It's national poetry month. Just doing my part.
