Xeno's Process

My writing this week has been like Xeno's paradox -- I wrote 2,000 words on Monday, 1,000 on Tuesday, 500 last night... it's distressing to think where this is going. I'm hoping to get more done tonight, which means studiously avoiding World of Warcraft. The computer seems to be killing my writing-buzz lately, too, so I'm thinking I'll sit on the couch, under one of our lovely new lamps, and write longhand. (I'm about to write the scene in the Bridge novel with Orville and the hooker and the tattoo, which I've been looking forward to, but which I'm also afraid of doing badly.)

Some bits of news -- I'm now a senior editor at A Certain Magazine (I'm sure I'll be getting my walker and cane any day now). We're sort of beginning to start thinking about moving me to a four-day-a-week schedule, which would mean two extra days off for writing every month; that would be most welcome. Still have to work out the details, so it might be a while before the new schedule starts, but I'm already looking forward to it.

In addition to my signing this weekend, I'll be reading in San Francisco the next weekend, Saturday the 14th, as part of Writers with Drinks (I'm a last-minute substitute, so I'm not listed on that page, but I'll be there, I promise). Should be fun. I did WWD a few years ago, and it's developed a much bigger following since then, so I expect a good crowd.

Now I just have to decide which parts of Rangergirl to read at these appearances...
