As for the Rest of My Life...

So, yes, there is more to life than typing. I would've done a longer entry yesterday, but I was pretty tired from finishing my novel.

My story "The Witch's Bicycle" (which was my first professional story sale) is being reprinted again, this time in Hayakawa SF, the major science fiction magazine in Japan. It'll be in the June 2006 issue, which, I understand, is devoted to Young Adult fiction. I didn't set out to write the story as YA, but this is the second time it's been resold as such, so I'll go along with it.

Congratulations to Jenn Reese, whose novel Jade Tiger will be one of the first publications of the new Juno imprint from Wildside Press. I read a draft of this book a while back (mostly while swinging in a hammock in the sunshine), and it's tremendous fun, immensely enjoyable.

Hmm... guess that's pretty much it. Writing a lot means I don't have much else going on. The day job is good. Scott Westerfeld came over to get interviewed a couple of days ago, and so we all got to hang out and drink wine and chat for a while. That was fun. Heather and I have been working out fairly regularly, and playing games, and watching TV, and etc. We've been watching The L Word on DVD, which has good moments and annoying moments but is overall fun enough to keep zipping through. I'm still reading About Writing by Delany; the essays are interesting, the letters are awesome, and the interviews are pretty good. Life is quiet and good, with lots of rain and the occasional hailstorm (well, okay, just one hailstorm, and it only lasted five minutes, but still).
