Happy May 1! Enjoy Beltane, or International Worker's Day, or your bank holiday, or Green Man day, or boycotting things, or buying nothing, or going to the rallies, or what have you. It's spring, the sun's out, and it's time to clean things and make the world a better place and begin endeavors. It's auspicious is what it is.

I woke up just feeling ludicrously good today. Probably the result of a weekend where I got a lot done (cleaning, shopping, etc.), got some good exercise (long walk in the park), ate some good food (an amazing squash-and-corn pasta dish Heather made), and the tasty banana bread (also courtesy of Heather) that I ate for breakfast. It's one of my short weeks -- Wednesday is my day off -- and Blue Heaven is fast approaching, so there's lots to look forward to. The only nagging gnawing note of dismay is that I haven't written a word of fiction in, hmm, two weeks. Been focused on non-fiction and editing and publishing. I need to get back into stories (I already have an idea for the next one after the spelling bee story, and a market in mind), but I feel energetic and capable, so that shouldn't be too hard. I just have to overcome some inertia.

Assuming you aren't reading this via syndication, but at journalscape.com, you've probably noticed the journal's color change -- I wanted something sunnier, since my world is full of sun lately.
