Well, it wasn't a crazily debauched birthday. No viking helmets, no motorized couches, no pony keg strapped to my back. But, for a dreary rainy birthday on a Tuesday when I had to go to work, it was pretty great!

First, Heather set up an internet treasure hunt for me, with the help of many of my friends. They all rock, every one. (The "treasure map" with all the links is here.) Made me feel appreciated all day!

And when I got home, she gave me a new comforter (I mostly sleep under an old coverlet with the stuffing coming out at one shredded end) and a new video game -- Gun! Which is fun. You can trample your enemies with your horse and shoot flaming arrows out of the air and frequent houses of ill repute.

We watched the first two eps of The Lost Room, which is nicely weird and quite enjoyable, and ate food that's bad for us (burgers and fries and shakes, yum!), and generally lolled about.

Also, at work, they fed me carrot cake. Mmm.
