Despite the Rain

I love the internet. I love that I can google "what should I put in my flask?" (without quotes!) and find, at the first link, a spirited discussion about which sorts of whiskey travel best, taste best neat, taste good when warmed to body temperature, etc. (I settled on Knob Creek. I wanted bourbon, and it's a good mix of drinkability and affordability. I might splurge and get some good Scotch at some point, but this will do for now.)

Good weekend. If not for the whole vanishing-car thing, it would've been a perfect weekend. River's been sleeping a lot (including another seven-hour stretch through the night!), and being adorable when he's awake. He had a bath today and didn't even get pissed off about it, and he's been full of cute babbles. I wrote a ton on the novel formerly known as Grift Sense (three times my quota, both Saturday and today!), did some freelance work, played a lot of World of Warcraft, watched some of The Wire, babysat solo so Heather could get out of the house for a while, and generally had a fine old time, despite the rain. (Lots of rain. And thunder and lightning yesterday, close enough to rattle the windows. It was hardly like living in California at all.)

And maybe the car will turn up this week. I'll look for it in the vicinity of work when I drive up there tomorrow, and I guess it's possible it got towed for some mysterious reason, though the cops said they'd check, and I haven't heard from them, so I'm not too hopeful.
