from last night's conversation with Nina that I just remembered:

Me: I have a pretty vicious competitive streak.

Nina: No kidding.

When you live with me, you have to put up with the banshee I turn into during college basketball season. And college football season. See if the Sooners weren't so good at these sports, they wouldn't make national TV so often and I wouldn't have a problem.

I felt bad about being so whiny in my earlier post, so I thought I'd post a good thing that happened yesterday, which is that my friend Stephanie who I haven't spoken to since before I graduated from OU, stumbled on to my humble blog yesterday and emailed me. Her blog is very awe-inspiring. One of the things she has posted is a list of 100 random facts about herself, which inspired me last night to write my own list, just for the hell of it. Since there is no freakin' way I'm going to type all of them into the computer, here is a random sampling of my favorites:

#10. I prefer to wear shoes without socks, except in dead of winter.

#34. Life has never been as perfect as the day last August when Dad and I were driving through Illinois on our way to New York and the baseball strike was averted just in time for us to catch the first six innings of the Cubs-Cardinals game on the radio.

#59. I am finding that the more I learn about writing, the more most mystery novels become hopelessly disappointing.

#66. I Believe people who vote a party line without ever questioning it are as bad as people who don't vote at all.

#89. I really do daydream about real life being more like a Broadway musical.
