Look, I'm not using work time to post this entry!

Ohmigod, it's hot. It's one o'clock in the morning and still 82 degrees outside according to my Weatherbug (which tends to run low). Which is not a lot of fun in an apartment with one tiny little room air conditioner in the living room. Thank goodness it actually cooled off most of the time my parents were here.

Today I saved a little bit of electricity by heading up to the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library and actually working on my writing (I know!) for a couple of hours. I also discovered they have a snack bar, so I may start heading up there for longer periods and just taking a snack break in the middle. Plus, they had books by Joan Silber, one of my SLC professors, and Anne Ursu, aka Batgirl. The only downside is that I tried to type in the revisions I made to the computer file, and I seem to have corrupted it (as in the last page I was working on before I saved is now the only page in the file). I have another copy on jump drive, but of course I'll have to redo the revisions I already typed in. Did I mention how much I HATE THIS COMPUTER?

On the other hand, I guess it was too busy screwing up Lotus WordPro to mess with the Internet connection -- I actually managed to upload my entire backlog of photos to Flickr. But I'm not going to try my luck with the organizing feature, so I'll link to them after I get some time with a highspeed connection.

Tomorrow I will be avoiding the heat (and since there's a 60% chance of rain tomorrow, the terrible humidity) by going shopping. What? The library's closed on Sundays!
