... you can probably figure it out if you go here and scroll down to read the masthead. It's not a paid position, but I'm getting used to crushing people's hopes with rejection letters surprisingly fast. Ha.

Since I don't actually remember following baseball until the 1987 World Series, I don't have any childhood hatred of the Mets, unlike certain other Cardinal bloggers. I confess to actually rooting for the Mets when they aren't playing my team, and if they win the NLCS, I'll probably root for them against whoever they're up against. Unless they win by tripping Albert while he's doing his home run trot in Game 1 and breaking his wrist, or something. I even kind of like Shea Stadium -- it's not as dingy around the edges as Yankee Stadium, and the view of the Whitestone Bridge is pretty nice. And someone finally listened to me and put Games 1 of the respective CSes on different nights! Of course, it's the one year I was pretty much guaranteed to get the NL on Fox, seeing as the Mets are in it, but it's still a good plan.

Of course, it's also the one year circumstances might force me to be away from the television much of the playoffs, as I have a dinner with some of my parents' friends who are visiting NY on Thursday (Game 2), and Cousin Ka's wedding is this weekend, the various travel plans for which will probably force me to miss all or part of any games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Not that I'm complaining about seeing people I love. However, if it was the World Series it might be a tough call.

Must go ... weed out my email? It's been kind of a slow week.
