Reading: THE RAZOR'S EDGE by W. Somerset Maugham
Music: Todd Rundgren's "Faithful" and The Kingston Trio's "... from the Hungry i"
Link o' the Day: Megatokyo

A somewhat enjoyable and productive today. I cannot say I finished many projects save grocery shopping, but I did manage to get a good start on two stories, one article, and a layout. I researched another layout, purchased some Easter goodies for Pretty Maggie, watched a movie, read some interesting magazine articles, and caught up on some mail (both e-mail and snailmail).

All in all I'm pretty pleased with the day and I now offer unto you this poem I came across:

Mary had a pair of skates
With which she loved to frisk
Now wasn't she a foolish girl
Her little*

As I mentioned yesterday, I took down my copy of THE RAZOR'S EDGE and have not been sorry to do so. Maugham's writing causes me great despair at times because, and I'm sure many of you have had this feeling before, his facility with prose seems so easy and natural that I wonder what a hack such as myself has any write scribbling down even a grocery list.

Thankfully I have something of an overblown opinion of myself so this feeling doesn't last so long and I find myself getting back to work.

One other thing I need to do this weekend is take a look at my submission information and see what exactly is still sitting in slushpiles and what needs to go out again. I've a feeling I'll be paying out a good amount for postage this week.

And here I'm cutting off tonights blog a little short. It's been a busy day and I want to set down another 500 words at least before turning in. G'nite all.

(*If you're reading this asterisk because of the poem above, go back and read the poem out loud and include the pronounciation for the mark at the end of the last line)

Cheers!
