Music: B.B. King's "Millennium"
TV/Movie: Red Dragon
Link o' the Day: BearManor Media

This turned into a productive night--although not necessarily one for writing. I did some revision work earlier today on "Truck Kings" and "Tecumseh", but for the most part tonight was devoted to freelance work. I got back the first proofs of HOLLYWOOD'S GOLDEN AGE a bit earlier than I expected so I fixed a few things, queried a few things, and spent the rest of the night on the Daws Butler voice acting book. The initial layout for that is nearly complete.

I wish I could say that it's been a day full of deep thoughts and insight, but aside from my previous post concerning scat, that's about all my poor little brain can come up with today. The dayjob has been a bit busy lately and will get busier. And we have had loads of rain today which tends to cloud my mind a bit at times. At least I have good music!

Well one thing I did today during break was cruise a few other weblogs that are floating around the net. I'm finding blogs a very fascinating phenomenon. It's not quite voyeurism as the vast majority are written with the full knowledge that someone else will likely read it, even if it's just one or two other people. Yet some I've run across lately seem to be talking about deeply personal things. Scarring sort of things. A lot of it comes across as mere teen angst. Hell, you should have seen some of the poetry I wrote back when I was a teenager. And if you _do_ find some, then I have to silence you. (cue ominous music, lightning flashes, and thunderbooms)

Just the same, I'm amazed by what people reveal, and what they remain purposely vague on. Now how do I look at my own blog in comparison to others? I try not to compare myself that way. I started this with an idea about writing to a daily audience while also writing to myself. It's an execise that I've been finding very useful in that I have been trying very hard to keep it regular and more than just a few lines.

Of course, I have my off nights on occasion. That's when you see a grapple-grapple unorganized presentation such as tonight's. So on to the next paragraph! Ho!

I talk a bit about some of the freelance work I've been doing. The majority of my work lately has been for BearManor Media which is the today's featured link. This is a great site to find books for nostalgia fans. There are a number of books there relating directly to Old-Time Radio--in fact the first project I did for them was an anthology of short stories (It's That Time Again: The New Stories of Old-Time Radio) which featured stories based upon old-time radio shows such as The Bickersons, The Black Museum, Dimension X, Tom Mix, and The Halls of Ivy. Well, I'm not going to run an advertisement on a free webjournal site, so I'll just say that there are some fun books there (SF, movies, radio) and mention that the better they do, the better I do.

Cheers!
