So I goofed.

"Gigli" is _not_ the Kevin Smith/Ben Affleck/J-Lo movie "Jersey Girl" with just another name. Pretty Maggie claims she told me this already, but I didn't believe her. Looks like there's some fact in there. Still, it seemed to me a pretty reasonable assumption. Who would have thought that there would be _two_ Affleck/J-Lo movies within three months of each other. And in "Gigli", J-Lo plays a lesbian gangster so I just figured this would be like "Chasing Amy," but with guns.

Shame on me. But there is good news. It means that the Kevin Smith movie, "Jersey Girl" might not suck as much as I hear "Gigli" is supposed to. I've yet to be disappointed by a Kevin Smith movie, and didn't want to start now. "Gigli" ain't Smith's. And there's still a chance I'll get to hear Tom Waits belt out the song "Jersey Girl" during the closing credits. (You reading this, Smith? Tom Waits, _not_ Bruce Springsteen)

The two points of this are 1.) I should not have doubted Pretty Maggie, and b.) if I made the mistake of confusing "Gigli" with "Jersey Girl" then others will as well. I understand why Kevin Smith may not want to make too much of a fuss right now seeings how Affleck and J-Lo are friends, but Gigli's bad press is going to hurt Jersey Girl's box office take.

Or maybe the general populace pays better attention to detail than I do.

Hot and sticky days. Yuck city. Sleep is rough. Did a little writing today, but not as much as I'd have liked. Mostly fiddled nd edited here and there.

Short entry tonight. Signing off, but because I spent most of this post babbling about Jersey Girl, here's a link to Exit 37 - NewsAskew.com's Exclusive Jersey Girl Coverage

Enjoy!
