I'm back from our little vacation. Still recovering from the many hours spent in a car, but otherwise hale and healthy. We had a great time visiting friends and making new friends. I can easily recommend the Holiday Inn at Beachwood for those who want a cheap, but pleasant place to stay. Next year, however, we're not driving. No sir, no way. No matter how nice the rented car was, we ain't doing it. There's talk of moving next year's gathering to Akron which will be cheaper to fly to. We're saving our pennies in anticipation.

Small world. At this year's gathering, our of appx 35 people, at least seven of us were big fans of Fred Gallagher's Megatokyo webcomic. One was even a college friend of Seraphim, Fred's wife (who also appears from time to time as a character). She even got rides from Fred and confirmed that he's pretty much what he presents himself as--a talented artist who has no understanding as to why people love his work so much.

We enjoyed touching her, thereby rubbing her fame off on us.

Plenty of work now that I'm home. I finished up the last touches to Bob And Ray and Tom and set that on to the publisher, as well as two postcard designs. Tonight I get cracking on the SFWA Bulletin.

Lots to do.

Despite the vacation, I did manage some writing times in the morning. I've been developing an interesting little story about the homeless that has been growing more and more interesting. It needs some research and a little fleshing out, but I think the premise is good, as well as the characters and the ending.

I keep getting interupted whilst trying to write today's catch-up journal entry, but alas, if I keep allowing this, I'll never post today, so I'll just end here and trust that tomorrow will be more sane.

Today's link goes to an old steady favorite--Megatokyo!

Enjoy!
