Reading: New Yorker back issues
Music: Herbie Mann and NOFX
TV/Movie: Futurama Vol. 3
Link o' the Day: Jonathan Lethem story which appeared in a recent New Yorker magazine and is now at their website

Another shortish entry as it’s a way busy day here today:

Yesterday I ranted a bit about techno-thrillers, and the impetus was my then-current reading of THE FOOTPRINTS OF GOD. I’m happy to say that FOOTPRINTS doesn’t take the usual tack of “science is bad” or “there are things mankind was not meant to know”. Rather, it’s concluded with some pretty thoughtful ideas concerning the nature of existence and consciousness. I was very pleased, and I heartily recommend the novel to others.

I have fun cooking--especially when i get a chance to experiment with something new. Last night I made Italian-style beef kabobs over rice and pinto beans. I made the marinade myself, and I’m pleased to report that it was a thumbs-up success.

What’s next? I saw some recipes for broiled fish I’d like to try soon.

_Very_ short entry today--and later than I usually like to get these in, which is a shame because I otherwise had some good topics. Anyway... link of the day gos to the Jonathan Lethem story which appeared in a recent New Yorker magazine and is now at their website.

Enjoy!
