We’re now a two-cat household. Nemo has a little brother, his name is Phineas--basically a short-haired version of Nemo, but also with a slightly longer face. He’s reminiscent of those cats you see ancient Egyptians worshipping in papyrus scrolls.

Unsurprisingly, Nemo is not ready for a little brother. The hissing began almost immediately, and despite having Phineas shut up in a separate room for the time being, Nemo has decided to take this all _very_ personally and has been sulking in dark, hard-to-reach corners, occaisionally spitting, hissing, and growling.

That was last night. This morning as I was getting ready for work, Nemo was back to his usual self. Biting my hand, chasing the mouse on the computer screen, eating my hair--like I said, the usual. He seemed aware of Phineas’s presence as he kept sniffing at the door, but I don’t think they’re quite ready for another face-to-face just yet. Maybe by Sunday of 2006.

Anyway, Nemo is seriously put out by all this. Phineas seems to be more curious than anything else, although he hisses, I think out of instinct rather than purpose (he hissed at a ceramic cat in the living room).

Any of you multiple-cat owners are free--nay, encouraged--to give up some tips on getting two cats happy with one another. Or at least encouragement that they will settle their differences soon.

Oh, rhubarb asked about pics. I will hopefully have some by Monday and will post.

Worked on the Bickersons last night, and received the text for It’s That Time Again Vol. 2 (More Tales of Old-Time Radio). Looks like Bickersons is going to take a back seat for a little while as I whomp ITTA into shape. I did some good work on some covers recently as well.
