Link o' the Day: Something Positive: The New Gold Dream

Your humble correspondent missed another day. Well, no surprise considering how busy it’s been at work these days, and I tend to do my journal writing during the brief slow periods in a typical workday. (If you’re my boss, and you’re reading this, I am currently lying. In truth, I really do work hard for you every minute, every second of the day. Honest.)

I took last night off from freelance typesetting and decided, instead, to focus on some writing. The opening of the Borderlands anthology reading period spurred me into coming up with something that would be appropriate. Now that I have something, I’m wondering if I shouldn’t try some other, more visible, markets first. Of course I’m jumping the gun here. One rough (very rough) draft doth not a final story make. It needs some work. Maybe by next week I’ll have something that’s close to ready. Then I’ll file it away for a week, and then revise it one more time.

But it’s a story that I think has a lot of potential. We’ll see if I’m right, or we’ll see if I’m dreaming.

I’ve gotten a couple of rejection slips lately, so it’s time to find the next set of markets to send things out too.

Perseverence, my friends. That’s what it’s all about.

The weekend is now here—or just about here. We’ve no huge plans for this weekend, although I suppose there will be some housework involved at some point. I’m hoping to get the revisions to the Bickersons bio done and sent back, and maybe some more writing. But with weather this beautiful, I’m sure we’ll be going out at one point or another.

Back to work (honest). For those folken out there who appreciate webcomics as much as I do, you may want to check out this little side-project that the creator of Something Positive called Something Positive: The New Gold Dream. It’s a fantasy (parody), and is only up to four pages so far, but they’re four very good pages. Heartily recommended.

Cheers!
