Errant Stories, Forgotten Gems

Mood:
locked in a wicker basket, thumping madly

Link o' the Day: The Market List

Friday I followed up on the rest of my errant stories, making sure they all had places to go, and sent them packing along with their lunch money pinned inside their jackets and their mittens on strings. I only have two lost children to see to. One is a YA SF story which is too long for most of the juvie markets. I may have a couple of possibilities, however. The other I may have to keep in a wicker basket in the basement, and when people come by the visit, and ask where the thumping down below is coming from, I'll just blame the plumbing. Alas. It was one of the first stories I had ever written, and it has some tragic flaws, thematically. It's time to let the little darling go.

There are more stories to write.

Forgotten Gems From the Twilight Zone, Volume 1, edited by Andrew Ramage and published by Bearmanor Media has been dropped in the mail and speeds merrily on its way to the printers. Work continues on Guy Williams which is going to have some challenges. Over 200 photos, and only minimal instructions in how to place them. Argh, gentlemen and ladies.

The SFWA Bulletin proofs have been signed off on. I expect to have my own copies in hand by this time next week, and the subscribers copies in the mail

It looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend. Warming weather. MELTING snow! Wahoo! There are a few heavy things in the car that I needed to to take out since Christmas, but given the sorry state of my leg and then all the snow snow snow and ice ice ice, I haven't had a chance. Looks like I can finally take care of that this weekend.

While scouting out potential markets, I came across this page which I had not visited before. Welcome to The Market List. (Original, huh? Not Spicy Green Market List, or The Market Ralan, or even Marketulations. Ah well. It looks like an interesting site, and they list a couple of things I hadn't seen elsewhere, but there are a number of outdated listings, which makes it a little suspect. I recommend, if you use it and find a potential market, to scout out a second source of info to confirm its accuracy.

Cheers!
