And that Cruel Dame Fortune just landed on a double-0. My boss announced to me, half an hour before the end of my day, that they were closing up shop for good. Sorry Charlie.

So Sunday I start the process for unemployment, which I hears pays real well these days. Here's hoping. Freelance alone just ain't gonna cut it, and typesetting jobs have become scarcer over the past few years. A lot of printshops have closed down.

I'm not too worried, though. I'm very good at what I do and have a lot of experience. And it's not like there are no jobs out there. Plus, I know a few people. In a couple of weeks I'll start making calls. Some are former clients of my company that I've had good relations with. I'm giving my ex-boss a grace period of two weeks for before I start calling. I know a few other folk in the industry and will let them know I'm available.

Plus, I'm looking forward to a little time off. It's time I can put to good use. Catch up on the housekeeping. Catch up on some writing.

So all in all, I think I can make the best of it for a while. Make this a positive thing.

Yeesh.
