Welcome to the wee early morning!

We're a plague house right now, and it makes sleep on a normal schedule challenging. Pretty Maggie has to get up extra early today for a work thing, so rather than risk waking her, I'm just up early to work on the Lonnie Burr photos and I'll just grab a nap later on.

Mystery solved.

I blame election day. I mean, ask around. Aren't there more people with the sniffles walking around right now? And wasn't a day where a good portion of the country all got together in one room for a while, sharing voting booths and pens and so forth, an excellent vector for the cold and flu virus?

The one going around here is weird, though. Starts as a headcold which passes fairly quickly, but then it surprises you by settling into the *cough* chest. It's not bad, as colds go, in that I can still function for the most part, but yeesh.

It's still worth it. I'm willing to take a hit if it means Obama's president.

Isn't facebook the most amazing friggin' thing ever? I'm in contact with lots of old friends, and a bunch of coleagues, and other folk. Just friggin' amazing.

That's all I really have to say on that.

A new website, Forces of Geek, will be unveiled soon. Probably by the beginning of December. There are a number of goodly folks involved. I'll be running a thrice-weekly blog, and a bi-weekly review column. Most of the reviews will be on things with a certain amount of geek cred (e.g., science fiction, comics, gaming, etc.). If you have something you want reviewed, or a suggestion for items to review, please let me know either here or at jdteehan@sff.net.

More on this as it develops.

And I'm coming to the end of another short entry. Time to concentrate on work. Today's link takes you to the Telnet BBS Guide. For you old-timers out there, yes, the old-fashioned Bulletin Board Systems are still around, but instead of dealing with troublesome dial-ups, time limits, limited line access, you can access them via telnet.

Enjoy!
