Is it over?

Is the holiday season officially over? Can we come out now?

Actually, it's always a little sad to see another holiday season pass by. And I can't even honestly say that it's entirely over for us. I won't take the tree down until at least Friday. And we still have to see my brothers. I don't worry about the holidays going. Their effects have good lasting powers these days for me and mine.

But no more using the holidays as an excuse to be behind on work. I'm actually ahead of the game in most areas, but admittedly behind in a couple of others. This is going to be a busy week for me--mostly doing setup and prep work for the launching of Project X for which I'll send out a press release on January 11th (my boithday).

Today it's some touching up to the Lonnie Burr book and a lot of writing.

Speaking of announcements, today marks the opening of the long-awaited pop culture blogsite Forces of Geek (forcesofgeek.com). Fifty or so self-styled commentators on geekdom will be converging there to spout or Vision and Wit. I'll be doing two blog posts a week (Mondays and Fridays) and a weekly review column on Wednesdays called "Falling Off the Shelf." This week's selection will be An Anthology of Graphic Fiction, Cartoons, and True Stories: Volume 2 edited by Ivan Brunetti.

I recommend everyone drop by Forces of Geek as it looks like it's going to be a very fun site. The Variety of contributors guarantees something for everyone. Well--everyone geek. But these days, who isn't a bit geek? Even President-Elect Obama tossed up the Vulcan salute recently.

We win.

Good god. We really did win, didn't we?

Short entry today as I have a lot of work to get cracking on. Consider Forces of Geek as my link o' the day.

Cheers!
