I cry at Hallmark commercials. I also cried during a Nike commercial once, and also whenever a room is beautifully remade on "Trading Spaces." And some songs - forget it. I can't even get through the first verse. So it's no surprise that I'm basically one big ball of emotions, and crying is at the top of my activities lately.

I shouldn't hold any conversations or make any decisions while at this level. The last time I fell apart this easily (when not medication-induced) was a few weeks before our wedding, when tensions were high. Anything can set me off. I got a nice note from a student - and had to excuse myself to the hallway. Colleagues cooked an "Amy's favorites" lunch today - and I almost didn't make it through the Jello and carrot cake. :)

I also tend to fly from highs and lows, almost like I'm manic. I'm relieved to be almost done teaching - then I'm sad. I'm upset over something - then I cry because I was rude. I'm excited to go to Russia - I dread *getting* to Russia. I'm not so good in airports. I can fly okay... but I take longer than Doug to figure things out in airports and get grumpy when he tells me what to do.

So I guess my rambling today is about emotions. My mom joked that she was glad it was Doug living with me through this, and not her. She had her 20-some years of it!
And I'm sorry in advance if I'm rude to any of you in the next few days. I'll cry about it soon afterward and feel _really_ bad.
