So I've begun lurking at a couple online "forums" to see what information I can gather. Doug has been doing it for weeks. :) I discovered something I though was interesting - the people never refer to it as an orphanage. They call them "baby houses" or "baby homes".

I thought this might be another "forever family" kind of crap (we can't call it an orphanage?!) but Doug tells me that the actual translation of the Russian is "baby house" for infants. It's not until they are toddlers and moved to a different building that it is called an orphanage.

Still kind of interesting. Talked to Jeanine the other night, one of the couples that went with us on the first trip. They were told with 99% certainty they are traveling for a court date of the 25th. She was also led to believe that the people she traveled with would be going around that same time. All our fingers and toes are crossed. But we have to wait. And I'm no good at that.

A friend from high school got married this past weekend in Chicago and Doug and I went. He's been really supportive, keeping up with the journal. Funny to think of all the people I went to high school with and knew, he's the one I keep in touch with the most. And his new wife seems very nice, although hard to tell from a thank-you note and a brief wedding day introduction. :) Although she's got to be something special if the finicky boy chose her to be his wife. :)

It made Doug and I all sappy again, remembering our wedding, the emotions involved, and knowing that we are at "stage 2" of married life - that of kids. Pretty crazy. And as Doug's brother is getting married this July, it was funny to think that at the next wedding, we'll have Roman with us! Assuming we travel before then. :)
