My mom observed the other day that I was very patient with Roman. Being a VERY impatient person, I found this a great compliment. It is true that what frustrates you with other people's children is different when it's your own. Maybe because I know I can't give this one back! I have discovered that my limits come with Roman when he screams at the top of his lungs.

This afternoon was our first alone together. My parents left this morning about 10:45am. Roman took a bottle, then we played in the basement while I caught up with the last 2 weeks of "Survivor" on tape. Hey, priorities. Our neighbor lady across the street stopped by with a gift for Roman - an adorable outfit that has a whale on it and says, "Little Squirt."

Then we went shopping. We went to Kohl's and to Office Depot. Roman was great, as long as the stroller kept moving! He got cranky in the car seat on the way home, but probably because he was hungry. We ate a whole large jar of vegetable turkey, a whole large jar of bananas, and half a small jar of creamed spinach. Mmmm.

It is fun to watch Roman explore his world. He is so curious, he has to observe everyone and everything. He is much better with diaper changes and clothes changes - before he used to scream like we were pulling his fingernails. He still doesn't like baths, but we are easing him by putting him dry into his tub and using the detachable shower head to spray him. He still yells, but they are crocodile tears.

We are attempting another bath tonight. Huh. I am getting over a sinus thing - at least, I hope it's sinus. Moving on to a scratchy throat and stuffy nose, from sinus pressure yesterday. Doug has Friday and Monday off, so it will be nice to be home the three of us as a family. Although my mom being here was a terrific help!
