I was getting tired of not being able to post pictures that illustrate something I'm journaling about. Debated changing the venue of the journal, but decided that would be even more frustrating. So finally broke down and updated (very simply) the website. Going to just post pictures by month, but at least I can link to them directly from here now. That site again is: WEBSITE.

Yesterday was a very busy day for Roman. He is clearly answering our questions now, usually with a shake of the head "no." When we give him choices (do you want to walk up the stairs or be carried?) he will physically answer by either grabbing onto us or leaning over to get down.

Doug blew up his new inflatable pool (a backordered birthday gift from a cousin) and we played in that for close to an hour yesterday afternoon. Roman thought it was just the neatest thing! Of course, I did take pictures of that but haven't put them on the site yet. A brilliant plan, but in slow motion.

The funniest thing he did was start putting his face in the water. At first I thought he was just drinking the water, but whenever he lowered his face down toward the water, he'd sit up with a big grin or giggle and his face would be all wet. I finally realized he was putting his entire face in, up to the top of his hairline; then as he sat up, the water would drip down his face and make him giggle. It was really funny to see. Another example of him starting to make his own fun.

Doug went out and played with a friend at the Woodward Dream Cruise last night, so Roman and I walked over to Baker's Square for dinner. Roman was a bit of a grump, and was absolutely exhausted by 7pm. Unfortunately, he awoke again this morning at 5:00am-ish, but finally demanded us to get him at 5:50am. I went in and he had tears streaming down his face. That was the story until 8:30am, when we made the executive decision to skip church and let him sleep. He has been sleeping now for 70 minutes, with no sign of waking up. So I guess this is catch-up day for him!
