One of my students received a call at 5am Friday morning. "Get to Mott's Children's Hospital - there's a liver waiting for you!" She was diagnosed with a liver disease very young, and has been on the transplant list for many, many years. She's 12. So Friday all day she spent undergoing a liver transplant procedure.

Doctors report she is doing better than expected, and they hope to have her in a private room and out of ICU by middle of the week.

The stress in my life is nothing compared to what this little 12-year-old has been through. Puts life into perspective sometimes.
