Working on: going to bed soon.
---------------------------------

Roman says "potty" and "poopy" now. "Acky" also goes along with this sometimes. He even, maybe a third of the time, can tell us when his diaper is poopy or when he's going poopy. These are not the words I would have chosen to use for acts of excrement; however, he had picked up on "poop" before we realized it, and daycare calls it "potty." So really no choice now until he's trained.

We don't expect him to be trained anytime soon, but read that once kids show an interest and know words, it's time to introduce them to sitting on the potty. So today his potty seat was ordered through Target. The kind that just clips onto a regular toilet. I even did research on the best kinds. Boys, you know - I just don't know about the whole peeing thing, tucking it between legs vs. standing up. All kinds of confusing for me. The ratings I found mentioned "splash guards" and that hadn't even occurred to me that it would be needed. But it sure does.

Today was also an exciting day for Roman at daycare. He peed in the bathroom. The written report we got was "He peed on the floor in the bathroom - right place, right time!" I don't know that the floor is the right place. Of course, we're trying to figure out why his diaper was off in the bathroom. I know they let him go in there to watch the other little boys train - I have a feeling he's "joining in." Will check with lead teacher on Monday, but we thought it was darn funny!

So now our lives again revolve around the toilet. Maybe I'll write a book one day about the role a toilet plays in our lives. It's a handy contraption for both ends, if you think about it, as it's a great place to vomit in as well. But first I have to write "Bathrooms Across America", which now can be "Bathrooms Around the World." There was actually a special on the Travel Channel regarding that very subject, complete with the winner being a solid gold toilet somewhere in Asia. Now that's what I call a throne. But I digress.

Roman's other interest is in lifting the toilet lid up and down, staring at the water, and attempting to flush. I think it's just a matter of time before something ends up IN the toilet.
