At 10:00am I will finally be the happy and proud owner of my new HP t-shirt that comes with the book I pre-ordered at Toys R Us. Usually I would have ordered through Amazon.com to keep the UPS man busy this morning, but couldn't resist the idea of a free t-shirt.

The downside is, of course, I have to wait until 10:00am. And actually go to the store. And figure out how to read the first couple chapters and not let Doug know. :) Oh, I can't wait until naptime, perhaps an hour (or more!) of sheer "Half-Blood Prince" bliss....

Even neater, wish I was one of 70 lucky kids last night in Edinburgh. They had all won essay contests about HP and were flown to Edinburgh, where they were delivered to Edinburgh Castle via horse and carriage, swept into Queen Anne's Hall which had been decorated like Hogwarts' Great Hall. At the stroke of midnight, JK Rowling appeared in the room and read the first few chapters of the book to them. How absolutely COOL would that be?! And whatever your opinion of HP is, you can't beat the fact that there are millions of kids worldwide who can't wait to get their hands on a BOOK, and read it cover to cover, in the middle of summer. Amazing tale.
