Working on: Heading to bed. Yay!
---------------------------------

On Saturday night Roman authored his first "funny." He was sitting on Daddy's lap and Doug was saying, "who are you? Who is this boy?" and Roman grinned at me and said, "I'm Dorian!" (a boy at daycare). He knew he was being funny, too, as he giggled. It was great - he's never said a funny before! At least, not deliberately.

Today he was over-tired or over-hungry or something after daycare. He got in the car and then started crying, and finally I made out that he wanted Daddy. He moaned and cried in the car for his Daddy all the way to the post office. I finally distracted him with the idea of a snack, but when I mentioned Daddy was on his way home he would start sulking and sniffling again. What an attachment!

Daddy brought the camper home to store in the backyard, and Roman got very excited - he thought we were going camping! He did love it this summer. We had to disappoint him, unfortunately.

I also wanted to mention that he is quickly approaching the "questioning" stage. He's not asking "why" too often, but he wants the name for everything - "what's that?" "What's that sound?" "What's that noise?" "What's his name?" "What's that name?" We hear these phrases constantly now.

I had a nice quick talk with Miss Katie today as Roman is spending part of every day now in official "transition." She mentioned that they were looking forward to having him join the room - "it's about time" she said. I was glad to hear that. She mentioned that they had pushed for it themselves, and apparently the director just turned a deaf ear. So that letter to management is definitely going to happen.

Disappointingly, however, two of Roman's best buddies (2 of the 3) are the reasons there is official room for Roman - Billy and Allison are moving up to the ages 3-4 room on Monday, when Roman starts in the 2s room. He will be very, very sad because he loves playing with Billy. So that leaves Micaylla, another couple girls, and another couple boys full time.

On one last good note, however - Roman gave us a heads-up at dinner tonight that he thought he had to poop. He and Daddy raced to the bathroom, where he peed and passed gas. We gave him lots of praise and he did end up with a sucker after dinner - this was his first time letting us know ahead of time!
