Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

Happy Dance - Part 2

I spent the afternoon at Coors Field, answering the phone and manning the reception desk. I saw lots of friends whom I have gotten to know during baseball season and who work in the front office. Lots of double takes as people walked through the lobby, smiled, said "hi", and then suddenly realized who they had spoken to. It was a lot of fun to be there.

I read nearly halfway through the book I took with me. Even without a lot of daily commitments, that's a luxury I don't have very often.

The two Fed Ex pickup drivers (ground and express) are new since the end of September.

The lobby is decorated with evergreen garlands with big purple and white ribbons. (Rox colors are purple & black) It looks nice and smells wonderful!

The ticketing phone line personnel had a potluck today, and there was LOTS of left over dessert. Several people thought to bring me samples. Yum!

My dad is better, out of Intensive Care. With the strain of the last couple of days, an afternoon like today was a gift. I am in the camp of those who believe in divine providence. Someone in heavenly scheduling has been on the job and paying attention! And I am grateful.
