Books and other stuff I feel like discussing

By education and experience - Accountant with a specialty in taxation. Formerly a CPA (license has lapsed). Masters degree in law of taxation from University of Denver. Now retired. Part time work during baseball season as receptionist & switchboard operator for the Colorado Rockies. This gig feeds my soul in ways I have trouble articulating. One daughter, and four grandchildren. I share the house with two cats; a big goof of a cat called Grinch (named as a joke for his easy going "whatever" disposition); and Lady, a shelter adoptee with a regal bearing and sweet little soprano voice. I would be very bereft if it ever becomes necessary to keep house without a cat.

New toy

We have deep sixed cable TV, in favor of a dish. We also got the DVR option, and I have been recording LOTS of stuff. We probably won't renew the "free" three months of HBO and Showtime we got when the dish was installed, but in the meantime there are quite a few things to enjoy. One movie I recorded was Martin Scorcese's elegant rendering of THE AGE OF INNOCENCE. I watched it late last night and finished up this morning. It's a marvelous movie.

In a reaction which amused me, and which I don't think I would have considered 6-7 years ago, I now want to read as many of Edith Wharton's books as I can.

I have become a reader. I'm not a TV watcher.

I think my grandmother would be quite pleased.

Whether I ever get around to watching all the stuff I have stored on my DVR disk is a very good question!
