Won't You Come Into My Parlor with Clay Animation and Robots

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Today we will be going to a high school in the metropolis to entice the third years and fourth years there to study college in our campus. I will be accompanied by two of my co-teachers and two – maybe three students who will be assisting with the robotics demonstration and exhibit in exchange for class incentives.

I was actually debating whether to wait until it had finished before I air my negative pre-event feelings about this, but then I realized: if I write it beforehand, it wouldn’t hurt our presentation anyway, because it will probably be over by the time most people will read this. So here’s my side of the matter.

I was told that we had been requesting for an opportunity to go to that school for the past two years, but have been declined, because the guidance counselor or someone in the administration has decided to take our name out of the very short list of colleges and universities that they allow to talk to their students.

I guess for that we have to be thankful for the abrogation of the school system, because now we have a brother president actually present during our board meetings.

And since this brother president also has ties with that high school, he was surprised when the aforementioned recruitment declination was brought to his attention.

So he rectified the situation, and we got a slot – maybe due to some brother strong-arming.

Unfortunately, this is one of the times the head of the registrar’s office will not be able to join the one-hour speaking engagement, so it falls to the members of her promotion committee, college faculty teachers, to carry on with the presentation, since work is supposed to have slacked for them (compared to the Integrated School teachers) being the last day of finals week, after all.

And being the only person most associated with the robotics demonstration, they have asked me to join them.

Not to present the video of the competitions from the two years ago that I’m most proud of, but to show the robots themselves, while someone talks on the stage.

It’s no excuse that the students who made the robots are still catching up on some of their final requirements and cannot join us.

Session 1279 feels our campus is not good enough for their students to go to. Class dismissed.
