When A Student Is Organized In A Way Opposite A Teacher's Direction

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Last part about Deiv's over the top dedication to getting a high grade, if it can be called that.

When he returned to the faculty room, I approached him to give him his seat work notebook.

God knows if he's going to be reviewing that during the term break, when all of his other classmates are basically relieved to shove everything out of their minds now that the ordeal of studying that subject is over.

When I turned my back on him, he said he still wanted to talk about the grading system.

This is the worst case scenario that I prepared for, but that I was holding back on, giving him a chance to realize when he was becoming a nuisance.

But it was actually the first thing I had written down when I computed the final grades of his class, knowing there was a possibility he would again ask for a detailed computation of his grade, including his Innovation Week submission, just like when he was my student in Introduction to Electricity and Magnetism a year ago.

So while he was still talking (seeing by the look on his face that he was thinking we would have a continuation of the sit down discussion) I turned around, went to the papers I had with the course cards that I had left on the computer after re-encoding another student's grade, and thrust the organized piece of paper at him.

The last thing I said to him before I returned to the computer was that I knew he was going to be obsessive about his grade and that I didn't want him taking up my time more than any other student in the same class.

Especially since most of that time is spent either repeating some things I had said in the lecture, or waiting for him and him alone to finish copying what's written on the board before the rest of the class can continue with the lecture. Otherwise, we could get along just being given notes, with the teacher having to standby to clarify anything he doesn't understand from them.

Session 1291 is predictably structured. Class dismissed.
