Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Ephraim is in the spotlight again for today. In my introduction to robotics class, he had to step up for their group, where one of his fellow members has been absent for most of the week, and the other one is a business administration student who considers the class just a fun elective.

For the past few days he has always been trying to let me hear about their (or his) travails with their project, even, during one of my other classes in the lab when they are allowed to work on their robot, how if one of my other students tampers with his work, then he already has an excuse on why they failed the task.

It really shows his educational mind set, which is that he always has some complaint ready for why he wasn't able to succeed.

Unfortunately, I'm already inured to his pleas, and would really like, for once to get some results from him. He is the one, in fact, that I mentioned in the student accessible version whose design failed to even launch forward in three of the six trials given.

He could say that it's because he asked me if he could change the batteries of their brain box before their demo, but he also arrived late (for the second time we are supposed to have a demo) and the engineering lab was closed (because the technician has been absent for a week) so he couldn't use the computers there to download the firmware, which he thought is what always happens when the batteries are replaced.

But that's only if they don't replace the batteries fast enough.

In fact, he even tried to use the brain box (with the program) of another group, but if he had done that I would have called him to it.

He's taking this course to learn about mechanical design and programming, and if uses the work of others, then he won't get any grade for that.

There was another group who requested being allowed to use weights other than those in the kits, but they asked on the last day, so it would have been unfair to the other groups who could not modify theirs to the new specifications, some of whom already submitted.

Session 1713 suspects the teachers always holds out on allowing pleas for consideration until it is too late. Class dismissed.
