One Room to Adjust Them All (Students' Subjects That Is)

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

There was just an announcement from the registrar's office about the adjustment of students for their third term classes after course card distribution which will be on Tuesday next week.

The adjustment days will be on the two days afterwards, from 8am to 5pm.

This will be in the computer lab, and the registrar's personnel and the advisers are requested to be there so that all the activity will be confined to one room, instead of asking the students to go to the faculty room then the registrar's office afterwards.

Maybe they also want to eliminate the large crowd they have right beside the central lobby (and spilling over) during those days.

It will also free up the college secretary for the dean's orders instead of facilitating for the associate dean's visitors.

I wonder if this will mean that when a student's adviser isn't there, it will make it easier for them to bug the other teachers to sign their academic advising form for them.

I also am speculating if this means there will be an online copy of the student's transcript to see exactly what subjects they have passed and not (instead of having to rely on their word when they don't bring their course cards - despite all the announcements) and minimize if not eliminate altogether the possibility of students taking subjects they shouldn't.

Maybe the associate dean will also be there, and just open new subjects or sections on the spot, and everyone will be informed immediately. No need to update several print outs for the advisers.

I'm seeing as many potentials for abuse here as well as possibilities of making the system better. I bet payments will still be made in the accounting office on the first floor though.

I'm also thinking of maybe just going to a Christmas celebration instead of being there for those two days. It's still up in the air.

Session 1939 is part of the advising revision committee, but doesn't want to be there for the implementation. Class dismissed.
