Academic/Personal: More Endings and Trailings

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Two major bits of news today, continuing from previous topics.

First of all, slacker student for the term has had a leave of absence form signed.

It was after my last class yesterday, and I thought he was going to talk to me about committing to attending the sessions for the rest of the term, so I said "not right now."

Except when he took out the paper. Then I readily signed. All the better to raise the students' overall academic average, I say.

@@ Second, another slacker - co-teacher this time. He was silent all throughout the meeting with the brother president previously mentioned, although two of his known associates (one of them who even said she won't be here for next school year but gave in her two cents' worth anyway, as if it would matter) voiced their opinions on the options given.

One of them went so far as to say that the faculty have to decide ASAP about what option to take, or who the officer-in-charge should be, because they wanted to protect their own interests.

The person to be picked has to be "appreciative" of the faculty, they insist, which is their main fear of getting someone from the outside.

In other words, they want to continue having the privilege of being regarded as "distinguished" faculty, which they are afraid might not be the impression of a total stranger, especially if they are committed to the school's future and see what the others are doing as detrimental to the reputation in the long run.

Session 2069 can't understand sometimes what's best for the teacher is not what's best for the students and the school. Class dismissed.
