A/P: Physically Present, Morally Absent

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

In yesterday's gathering that I talked about in the student accessible version, slacker co-teacher was late again, surprise surprise.

Just like last time, he sent a text message to our new graduate and teacher, asking what time it was going to start, what was the agenda and would there be free lunch. Typical wheedle-out attitude.

And since lunch wasn't free, he went with his cronies (who of course influenced the two new graduates and faculty to join them) to eat outside the campus, since there was a long line in the cafeteria.

It wasn't surprising that they showed up late for the afternoon session.

Maybe that was their reason for dragging as many people as possible with them, so they would share the flak from their tardiness.

By the time they arrived, we had already been given the task for the afternoon session, still related to values, of coming up with values we want the students to learn, and why.

When SCT got there and belatedly joined our group in the middle of the discussion, he started saying loudly "pay increase!" showing off the bat what his value is (greed) and assuming that anytime we are given a manila paper to write something down it's to complain about the current system of running things.

Finding out he was wrong, he just sat at one side and still loudly engaged another of our co-teachers in a conversation about cars and repair.

Well, thank you for your contribution, obviously, your heart isn't in the task.

During the discussion afterwards, where different groups reported, he also kept going outside, realizing the presentation was more for the integrated school teachers, and since our bosses weren't there (unlike the IS principal) he thought there would be no consequences to his distracted actions.

Session 2167 is just there to draw a paycheck, for least effort presented. Class dismissed.
