A/P/Extra-curricular: Happenings When I Was At the Student Affairs Office

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

The student council has finally accepted that their leadership training seminar when the term has already started will have to be from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon instead of early Friday morning, since the brother president won't back down from his stand that they should not miss two school days in a row just for non-academic work.

Their new problem is that because of their waiting until this long to check the availability of places, their first two choices (where they have been to before) are now both booked.

So there's a possibility after all that they might not push through.

@@ While I was at the student center, Ephraim showed up asking about his Graphics One: Manual Drafting. I thought he had already enrolled it, but apparently he hadn't since he was advised by the associate dean, who was not familiar with his case.

That's why we asked that students consult with the specific advisers assigned to their batches in the first place, so that these kinds of oversights do not happen. In his case, he was caught by the switching of Graphics One and Graphics Two from Introductory Computer Aided Design and Drawing and Intermediate CADD to Manual Drafting and Introductory CADD respectively.

He had passed Graphics One (Intro. CADD) but failed in Graphics Two (Manual Drafting) the year they were first implemented, and before they were switched. So in his transcript, he passed Graphics One but failed Graphics Two. Now if he takes Graphics Two, he will be taking Intro. CADD again.

That's what it says in his advising folder, so the associate dean did not give it to him. So yesterday he approached me in the Student Center to ask me about it. I told him the head of the registrar already knows about his case and has changed it.

So now he just needs my signature to add the subject, since the associate dean doesn't show up until Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Session 2183 was in desperate straits to approach the teacher he's been avoiding. Class dismissed.
