P/E/A: The Real Start of the Weekend

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

One of my co-teachers, the one who, for the past two years, has been "training" students who are to be put forth to all these quiz contests, asked me today (most likely in my capacity as student affairs coordinator) if he should continue that work.

I really didn't know if that falls under the auspices of my office, but I just said "why not?" What I don't understand is all this need he has to keep posting in the faculty forum that "his team" had the highest score out of those who were eliminated right before the final round or some such technicality.

Maybe if there is another invitation for some quiz contest I will have to get the approval of the brother president/dean first.

@@ Just finished with the first parents of college students organization first general assembly for the school year. There were questions whether it should be given at the same time as the freshman orientation before the start of the school year instead of during the tenth week when the students, if they have not been performing well all this time, could not be expected to recover and get the expected passing grades.

Their election, for the second year in a row, is also still weird.

All of the attendees are considered as preliminary nominees. The top nine nominees (or in this case the top ten since there was a tie for ninth place) are now the composition of the board.

The parents have the right to decline nomination before the voting begins, and, in this case, also after the announcement of the new board.

This was what one elected guy did, citing heavy work that takes him out of the country.

It was also funny that both the college student council president and the parents' president in their reports only highlighted the activities to which they donated money, when the parents would most likely be interested in all school events.

Session 2281 is just rambling, wants to get the non-campus weekend started. Class dismissed.
