A/P: Reminds Me of Wormtongue in Tolkien

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Today I'll talk about yesterday's emergency faculty meeting before the meeting set by the brother president for Tuesday next week.

Okay, their concerns were legitimate, as it came from two of the directors I trust.

What annoyed me to no end was how slacker co-teacher was stealing the show.

He was always interrupting in his booming voice with irrelevant comments that may have been to relieve the tension, but still speaks of insensitivity on his part to serious matters.

What's also galling is that every time someone brings up a topic, he's quick to comment something to the effect of "what's in it for me" or "that's not fair compared to what's been promised".

There were also times when he half-jokingly hinted they should just make him the dean instead of hiring someone from outside.*

*At least it already came out that there are teachers who are admittedly against getting a dean from the outside, regardless of how qualified they may be, or how they might be sympathetic to our cause.

Ironically, contrary to how voluble he was at that meeting, when it came to bringing up the matter at the official meeting, he said it shouldn't be him because the brother will just get mad at him.

Isn't that the point? That these are concerns the brother should not set aside regardless of how it makes him feel to address?

And he wasn't consistent, because towards the end of the meeting he came up with another excuse why he won't talk during the meeting, which is that things won't change anyway and it's just a waste.

Pathetic; but it's not a waste to bluster to everyone else until he agitates someone enough to speak up or act out impulsively.

Session 2327 also said he won't just quit if things get worse, he'd rock the boat roughly first - so selfish. Class dismissed.
