A/P: Someone Who Can't Distinguish Between Duty and Privilege

Student "edition" found at {csi dot journalspace dot com}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Ms. I Can Do Anything Because I'm Elected is not attending the reflection session of the Student Council again, this time because she already has a ticket for a beach vacation in the South.

Well, if she never committed to anything during the leadership session in the first place, what and how can she reaffirm that commitment?

What's funny is that the facilitator of their session, a former officer himself, when he talked to her recently, related that she said she had only given 70% for the Council during last term.

Emcee of the Acquaintance Party? That's 70%? That's self delusion.

When tested with questions on what the activities of the Council would be for the second term, she couldn't even give the right name for the annual talent show, since she doesn't attend meetings.

Well, if her excuse was that she had classes when they had meetings, it's not allowable for her to skip classes to attend meetings.

No Student Council or organization officer should use duties as an excuse to skip classes. Academics will always come first.

Besides, as role models, they have to show the "ordinary" students the right conduct, which is not to come up with any reason not to attend classes.

So I just told the reflection session facilitator that one of the objectives of the Council for the second term, especially in light of the recent student death and the fact that one of their number is not doing her job is that they should all be approachable.

Since we don't have peer counselors yet, they should not foist off any student telling them their problems to someone else.

How, after all, could they speak for the students if they don't listen to the students?

Session 2347 doesn't have any idea of the impeachment coming. Class dismissed.
