Good for Me and the School, Bad for Him?

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Okay, something weird is going on. I already talked here about the voting the teachers of the school of engineering did for the technical panel to the faculty manual revision.

Slacker co-teacher and I both received the same number of votes, and we were pointing at each other.

Finally he won the coin toss, which according to him meant that he gets to refuse the position.

At the start of the term, the director of the school has already been telling me that I do too much.

So when the vice dean told me that it was slacker co-teacher attending the technical panel, I assumed it was the director telling him to take the job instead of me.

I was surprised this lunch time when the director asked me why it wasn’t me who was attending the panel.

Apparently, he didn’t do the maneuvering of slacker co-teacher that I thought he did.

Come to think of it, given the level of resentment between the two, maybe SCT would refuse if he was ordered to take the job, citing other commitments.

So my question now is, if it was the vice dean that told SCT to attend the panel, why didn’t he whine?

Why did he accept, when he doesn’t want to be on record as being nugatory?

@@ Another new certain student anecdote: he was in the engineering faculty room earlier when the student organizers of the college week celebration were talking about the person to lead the prayer for the opening ceremonies.

The president of the local Youth for Christ passed it on to him, and his first question was if there was plus points for it; talk about wanting his grades any other way because he knows he can’t get them on skill and charm alone.

The YFC president didn’t like that attitude, and told him that if it’s for God, plus points shouldn’t matter.

Surprisingly, that shut him up about it and he just asked for the time it will be held.

Session 2527 now sees several pedestals. Class dismissed.
