Help for the Regulation-Hindered

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

My co-teacher who, right now, is handling the search for the outstanding teacher in the college, is too much of a stickler for details that it's a hindrance already.

He even asks for input from the evaluation committee about what the weight of each criterion should be.

And because someone else who was on the committee last year has his own ideas about protocol, we have to abide by the formalized passing of documents he proposes, even though again it puts a dent in the schedule of the evaluation.

For some reason he also took out the new student evaluation of the candidates, so that now only the regular evaluation will be considered. So that there are still four evaluating bodies, the directors are now separate from the peer faculty ratings.

Also, for some reason, number of courses taught, number of preparations, and degree earned are part of his criteria.

So much for a level playing field between new faculty and senior ones, with this criterion, points are stacked against those with not much accomplishments yet.

I don't even know why I'm part of the committee again. I wasn't the winner last year.

Even though last year's winner is now a part time teacher, why can't she be contacted to coordinate?

He even wanted to pass on the job just because the rules (which we never saw last year's) said the evaluator had to have been in school for the last three terms, which he wasn't.

As if someone will protest on those terms. That would be too shallow if they did.

This teacher-in-charge is the same person who, on talking to the discipline officer, kept repeating about the bad precedent of having a student file a case against the school with the commission on higher education, because he thinks the rest will follow suit.

I know that's not the case because this student is just exceptionally dense and egotistical.

But was just too much not to respond to his unfounded claims, which I'm sure he would have repeated given the chance. I hope this is the last time that I will have to work with this person in this capacity. He can go back abroad for all I care.

Session 2627 was tempted to fill the form for ranking criterion randomly. Class dismissed.
