"This Is What's Wrong With Them"

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

By typing this out right now I'm missing the second of two sessions of our HMO orienting our members.

I know I've used them recently, but that would just put me in the second of two types of people who attend those seminars that I don't like.

The first one is those who complain about theoretical situations that their policy does not cover.

I don't know if these people are just naturally antagonistic, because if these HMO representatives had not been given training on sensitivity and diplomacy, then they could have just answered "If you don't like our services in the first place, then why did you choose us?"

Of course they could answer that they were in the minority and lost, but that doesn't mean that they can make up for it by taking most of the time in the seminar with their usually baseless concerns.

The second type is those who will complain about having availed of the services, and not liking it.

Maybe it's the audience that these people crave, because I can just complain directly to these persons without having to turn it into an angry mob scene. Or is it that they need confirmation from others of how they were wronged?

Anyway, it's a thankless job for these people, so I'd rather not make it worse, although I did joke with one of my co-teachers that because of how they'd helped me, I could give them a hug.

Not really. They were still just doing what they promised they'd do when they took my money, so it's no biggie.

@@ My first and only finals for the term finished just an hour ago. It was for astronomy, of course.

There were a hundred and twenty five items or questions. It was mostly fill in the blanks, complete the tables, and some enumeration.

I still can't get over the gall of these students in asking for a few minutes of open notes when the exam is about to end.

Then what am I grading from them? Knowing how to look up answers in notes they've taken all term long?

I know that it's been the practice of some of their teachers (I'm talking about in business administration in particular) and it really mystifies me how the students think the teachers are doing them a favor there.

Are they proud of their manipulation and convincing powers? Will they think it will now work on their prospective employers or clients who will buy the products they could sell at a bloated price?

For me it just puts them in the same line as all these sleazy salesmen and beggars, and I pray that they will grow a conscience.

Maybe I'll campaign for twenty four units of religion and ethics to be added to their curriculum.

Session 2779 just hates others today. Class dismissed.
