Not Power Tripping At All

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

According to very reliable sources, the discussion of the administration about whether or not to suspend classes last week was a deliberation that took most of the day last Tuesday, and whose result was only released (at least to me) past 5pm of that day.

I would have wanted to be present at that meeting, even if not to consult. On the other hand, today it seems that everyone that I could want to talk to about administrative matters is not around.

There is a move to stop the dance group from practicing thirty three hours a week: five hours a night on weeknights and eight hours on Saturday. This is more time than they spend on their classes.

I wish that they would show the same dedication to their classes, but for now I have consulted with one school director, who will ask the other teachers about the performance of these students in their classes, both last term and this term, and see if they merit limitations.

I could also ask the office of the registrar for their records and grade point average from the past two terms.

At the most, we can have a dialogue with their parents and ask if there are any adverse effects to them spending all that time practicing, if not the bonding among their peers.

@@ On another front I would rather not talk about in the student accessible version, I finished this game called Puzzle Park since installing it and starting to play it last Saturday.

It is basically like this jewel game where if you put three of the same in a row it disappears from board and new gems fall from the top of the grid. It also has that variation of needing to clear blocks from certain backgrounds, and of certain pieces in at least two locks.

That is the same as the Jewel Master: Cradle of Rome game on the DS, but without the time limit.

There are also extra moves you can get, but not by gathering enough symbols, just bring them to the bottom of the screen. Another end condition per level is to bring the star to the bottom of the screen.

So there is a possibility to get you stuck if certain bottlenecks get clogged with special characters.

Thankfully, there is also the added feature that if you get enough of the common symbols, you can replace them to any part of the grid, including, I found out in the middle of playing, even locked symbols.

There is also a bonus trigger for the next 6 or 10 best moves, for spray painting different symbols to clear a path, jumbling around symbols around a certain nexus, and vertical, horizontal and diagonal clearing, although there is a limited number given per level.

Session 2823 was sufficiently distracted, singular-minded while playing, but glad it is done. Class dismissed.
