More "Connected" Than Ever

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

I thought I would have be excused from writing today, since I had to make the syllabus for my first subject at 420pm later, but it is just 230pm and I still have a lot of time. No justification then.

One thing i have not mentioned yet is that I finally have a phone in the Student Affairs office, local 133. The handset, which is supposed to be wall mounted and has buttons on the earpiece, is blue.

They changed the numbers from the one was told to me before the end of the term though, which was 208. Sadly, that was what we placed in the letters about the drug testing printed last Monday.

So they made the new numbers almost consecutive, and gave the list on the afternoon of the same day.

What is funny is that when the president saw his local published, he said that it should not be. So instead of recalling the list, they just changed it, so if they try to call up the number of the president in the list, it would not ring.

The number was given to the expanded operations council members though, so I have the elitist privilege of knowing it.

@@ I do not know why there had to be a parent representative to the meeting about new rules for posting on campus, but I am still thankful that she was there, so I could tell her about being drug testing parent rep as well.

And, on a side note, the word rep is an accepted slang I guess, as it was not highlighted by my spellchecker.

We also talked about, as usual, her favorite subject, the current and overstaying president of the association of parents.

It seems that when he talks to the new administrative officers in campus now, it is to complain about the old officers, such as the dean and the secretary of student affairs, that he has locked horns with.

He even talked to the secretary of the president about the secretary of student affairs, who was also not sympathetic.

As for the information and special projects head (the new one) he talked his ear off until after lunchtime, not even realizing the guy had not eaten yet. Such insensitivity and focus on his own spotlight.

But as for now, when I asked the dean she said that letters from the students to the president of the association of parents should still be addressed to him. What they actually did was just make sure that there would be no complaints of undermining from him when the college dean (and of course, my office) gathers the parents for our own general assembly to get a new set of officers.

@@ I would just, for now, like to talk about the season finale of a suspenseful TV series I follow.

I thought they missed the boat in having family of the main character away when he had his final confrontation with the villain of the season, instead of having them nearby and up the danger to them.

But apparently, the writers were thinking one step ahead of complacent viewers on that.

Session 2905 applauds the modern misdirection. Class dismissed.
