Another Life

Student "edition" found at {thoughts dot com slash typed no space out no space loud slash blog}.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this blog now, not with everything that's been going on.

Well, it looks like I will be going to the metro again later, to the business capital this time around.

And to think just recently I was talking to friends about the free tickets I used to score for movie premieres from the husband of an office mate of someone I went to a two-week immersion with.

Sadly right now I am no longer in contact with that someone, since she turned out to be needier than I could help.

At the same time, the husband apparently broke up with the officemate. And it was the husband who worked at the radio station.

I think the best movie I was able to watch out of this deal was The Transporter. At the time, since I lived in the metro, I was okay with the last minute contact and I only had to take the rail transit to the mall.

I might have watched The Two Towers under this kind of an arrangement, but I cannot be sure. All I have to show for it are the stylized oversized tickets, and I do not remember if the one for The Lord of the Ring: The Two Towers was bought and paid for by me in protest of the MMFF or was free.

But at the same time, I remember when it was a not so good movie being offered, but I had no choice but to go.

This happened with Derailed, the Under Siege in a train rip off by Jean Claude Van kick boxer. There were two tickets available, but no matter who I invited, no one would go with me. And it was too late to back out.

I guess it was a testament to how much of a decline his career was at the time that neither the sponsors of the premiere or I knew.

I was intoning then about how maybe I could not go to such premieres anymore because the travel is longer.

Now I will try to make up for it, by leaving work a bit earlier than before. I just hope this is will not be a regular thing.

@@ Okay, apparently the source of the blatant spam comments I was finding in the student accessible version also have a blog of their own, in the same space of journals. I wonder how long it will be before they are taken down.

I could hasten the process by looking for a button that protests objectionable content. If the site owners do not find that it violates their agreement of use, then so be it, at least I tried, and will continue deleting their comments.

@@ There are some NSTP students who want to sell street food in campus for their fund raising.

Maybe next year we can include NSTP teachers in the allocation of selling days allowed by the concessionaires, since this always happens on the third term anyway. But it will be a big compromise.

At the same time, the computer science students want to sell shirts for their fund raising. There was a permit to sell form, but not activity form. It is in these technicalities that we get bogged down.

Session 2929 still has at least two big fights to contend with for the term, and will try to stick to my guns. Class dismissed.
