Real workplace conversation today:
Co-worker: So, if Queen Victoria's birthday is a holiday, why isn't Queen Elizabeth's birthday a holiday?
Me: Well, that might be politically contentious.
Co-worker: How so?
Me: Well, you know, if you were Catholic...
Co-worker: I meant Queen Elizabeth II.
Me: Oh. Um, sorry, I live in the Middle Ages.

Those of us who live in the Middle Ages, though, are probably uniquely well-equipped to appreciate this magnificent Shakespeare/Damon Runyon pastiche.

John M. Ford is a genius. I'm going to be walking around for days muttering, "Il est fort bon palaver," and cracking up.
