So Maybe I Lied

Woke up this morning feeling pretty good. So maybe I'm not sick after all, or I shook it off yesterday. Or something. Ethan was still running a fever this morning, but seems better tonight, so... fingers crossed. Andy is not doing as well, however, and has currently crashed on the couch and assumed the "I am a male and I am sick, woe is me" position.

Aw, come on, men. You know you're like that.

I spent thirty minutes tonight pecking at a bio for Lone Star Stories. Three lines and it takes me longer to write than 500 words of fiction (well, on a good day). In the midst of producing the bio, I decided to update the bibliography and submissions column on my webpage, and in the process discovered that a good friend of mine from high school had left me a comment over there back in July. After whacking myself in the head a couple of times, I fired him off an email. Hopefully he's still using that address, and if he finds his way here: HI DEL!!!!!

Writing today: Finished writing a brand-new chapter 4, but it's still in bright blue Sharpie. (Andy says the fumes are going to rot my brain, but for some reason I don't like using regular pens anymore.)

Homeschooling today: Read the kids four chapters of Matilda. When I was a kid, I, too, tried to tip over things like water glasses using only my thoughts and the power of my gaze, but alas, nothing ever happened. Since Matilda wasn't written until I was in high school, I got the idea from a book called The Girl With the Silver Eyes. Loved that book, but I think I would have liked Matilda even more.
